**1 day workshop**

In this 1-day class, children will learn that the ocean is made of different layers, and each one has its own light, creatures, and conditions!

The class is led by an experienced former elementary school teacher who has a background in teaching science and leading STEM camps.

The session includes:

-a sensory experience about the 3 ocean layers

-a read-aloud

-a science experiment: Ocean in a jar

-ocean zone obstacle course

Class will take place at Phil Moore Park, located at 7101 Scottsville Road.

All materials are provided. Because classes are active and can involve messy play, please send your child in play clothes.

**3-day camp**

In this 3-day class, children will learn the basics about plants, including the parts of a plant, how seeds are dispersed, and how pollination takes place to help plants grow.

The class is led by an experienced former elementary school teacher who has a background in teaching science and leading STEM camps.

Each session includes:

-a sensory experience

-fine motor and gross motor games

-outdoor exploration (weather permitting)

-a read-aloud

-a science experiment or topic-related craft

Classes will take place at Bowling Green Christian Church, located at 1912 Smallhouse Road.

All materials are provided. Because classes are active and can involve messy play, please send your child in play clothes.

**6-week session**

In this 6-week class, children will explore basic chemistry and chemical reactions. It involves many of the topics and experiments that you'd love to do with your kids but don't ever have the time or energy to prepare!

Week 1: Bubble science

Big idea: What makes bubbles? Can you change their shape or size?

Week 2: Color reactions

Big idea: Colors can mix, move, and react with each other.

Week 3: Sticky, slimy, stretchy.

Big idea: Some materials stretch, stick, or drip.

Week 4: Cold chemistry.

Big idea: Cold things can melt, stick together, or change shape.

Week 5: Magnetic madness

Big idea: Some objects can move without touching.

Week 6: Sweet science

Big idea: Cooking is chemistry.

The class is led by an experienced former elementary school teacher who has a background in teaching science and leading STEM camps, as well as years of experiencing leading preschool small groups.

Each session includes a sensory experience, gross motor games, a read-aloud, and a science experiment or topic-related craft.

Classes will take place at Bowling Green Christian Church, located at 1912 Smallhouse Road.

Due to the nature of our class & the young age of our learners, a caregiver will need to accompany students. All materials are provided. Classes are active and can involve messy play, so please bring your child in play clothes.

-games that build on what we're learning

-a read-aloud

-a science experiment or topic-related craft

-STEM engineering activities
